Pvt. William D. Bacus

William D. Bacus enlisted in the Civil War on July 6, 1861, and was enrolled in Co. H, 1st Regiment Indiana State Volunteers for a term of 3 years.
William was honorably discharged on July 31, 1864 by reason that it was the end of his term of enlistment. AFter the war, Bacus, along with other Union Veterans, affiliated with the Grand Army of the Republic.
in 1882, while living in Hillsboro, Illinois, a daughter, Olive, was born to Bacus and his wife.
