Dionysius (Dennis) Diebold was born at Baden, Europe on March 7, 1820. He married Magdalena Wantz in October 1845 in Canton, Stark County. Magdalena was born in France on May 10, 1820. Dionysius and Magdalena had a son Anton, born in New Hamburg, Missouri on April 9, 1857.

Dionysius Diebold enlisted in the 10th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry on October 2, 1862 as a private. He was honorably discharged from that service on September 19th, 1865, due to illness. He also served as a private in Co. C, Scott County Battalion M.S.R.C. from which he was discharged on August 5, 1861. Dionysius died February 12, 1899.

Anton married Rosena Compas on October 28, 1879 at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, Missouri. Rosena was born in Kelso, Missouri circa 1858. Anton and Rosena had a son, William M.J. Diebold. He was born on May 11, 1884 in Kelso, Missouri. Anton died on June 22, 1889

William married Anna Julia Roth on June 8, 1905 at Scott County, Missouri. Anna was born on September 21, 1879, in Kelso, Missouri. They had a son, Edmond Gustav. He was born July 19, 1918 in Kelso, Missouri. He married Myrtle Niehaus on October 5, 1940 at St. Luke's in St. Louis, Missouri. Myrtle was born on March 29, 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri. They had a daughter, Yvonne Marie, born October 5, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri. Yvonne married Richard Louis Dierker on September 9, 1967.

Edmond died on July 20, 2003 in St. Louis.
