Pvt. Frederick Krehmeyer

IL State Volunteers, Co. O, 10th Reg.

Private Krehmeyer enlisted in the 10th Regiment, Co. O, Illinois State Volunteers on August 8, 1861 at Nashville, Illinois.  Private Krehmeyer was discharged due to a disability on April 25, 1865.  After the war, he joined G.A.R. Harry P. Harding Post #107 in St. Louis.

The 10th Regiment Infantry was organized at Cairo, Illinois on July 29, 1861.  It was moved to Mound City, illinois and had duty there until January, 1862.  The Regiment moved through many states, participating in several skirmishes and later moved to Louisville, Kentucky where the regiment was then mustered out on July 4, 1865 and then discharged at Chicago, Illinois on July 11, 1865.
