Pvt. Berhard McDaniel

Berhard McDaniel was born in 1832. When he was 29 years old, he enlisted as a Private in Co. A, 74th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry on October 9, 1861 for a period of 3 years.
This Regiment took 6 months to get organized and bore an honorable part in the Battle of Stone River, Tennessee from December 31, 1862 to January 2, 1863. He was then discharged as a Private with an honorable discharge.
In 1867, while living in Odin, Illinois, a daughter, Cora, was born to Berhard and his wife.
