Corp. Christian Adolph Meinershagen

Enrolled MO Militia, Co. F, 1st Prov. Reg

Christian Adoplh Meinershagen's family came from Germany, arriving in Baltimore, Maryland in 1837.  Christian, the fourth child, was born in Warrenton, Missouri at March 7, 1843 to Heinrich Adolph Meinershagen and Wilhelmina Caroline Boehmer.  At the age of 20 he enrolled in Co. F, 1st Provisional Regiment Enrolled Missouri Militia on April 2, 1863.  On October 8, 1863 he received a disability discharge.  In 1864, he married Catherine Maria Schaberg and had one daughter.  Catherine Maria passed away, and he married Catarine Louise Berlekamp in 1868.  To this union there were eight children born.  He was very active in the Friedens Church in St. Charles, MO.

He had a couple of occupations in his lifetime; a farmer and a master carpenter.  He died of pneumonia at his home in St. Charles County, Missouri on May 8, 1926.  His remains were interred in the Friedens Cemetery, St. Charles, Missouri.
